Meet Vanessa
Vanessa Hackett, corneotherapist at Skin Mantle

From Curiosity to Corneotherapy.

I qualified as a beauty therapist with a genuine interest in skin, its biology, and the science behind what we put on it. Training with Dr Hauschka early in my career showed me how facial treatments could go beyond the surface to support the whole person, and managing my own oily, acne-prone skin holistically reinforced what I was beginning to understand professionally: that a healthy barrier is central to long-term resilience and confidence.

That curiosity led me to complete advanced skin analysis training and a Bachelor of Nursing, giving me a clinical, whole-body lens on skin health. Through that process I found corneotherapy, and the philosophy aligned with what I had been working toward intuitively. Then I discovered and began working with Prologic, a female-founded, New Zealand-made corneotherapeutic range that's vegan, sustainable, and genuinely ethical.

Today I work as a practising corneotherapist, providing skin analysis consultations, prescription skincare, and customised facial treatments that restore and maintain the skin's protective barrier. I'm particularly passionate about supporting women through all stages of life, not just their skin, but their overall wellbeing.

I look forward to meeting you.

Where we begin

Skin barrier health is not a beauty standard.

Most of us have grown up being told, in small ways, that how we look matters more than how we feel, reinforced through compliments, corrections, and comparisons, until it becomes an expectation to keep performing beauty in order to remain acceptable. That expectation leaves women with little real choice over how they engage with their own appearance, and the cost of that is significant.

Skin health and beauty standards are two different things, even though they often get treated as one. In practice, corneotherapy isn't concerned with achieving a beauty standard. It works with your skin's biology, not against it, restoring its natural function, and in doing so, avoiding cycles of manufactured insecurity and dependency.

Once your skin's basic needs are met, how you choose to engage with makeup, cosmetic procedures, or nothing at all, is entirely yours. In fact, when the skin barrier is functioning well, cosmetic concerns tend to improve naturally. You deserve to feel comfortable in your own skin, no matter what you choose.

I'm not here to hold you to a standard.
I'm here to give you the knowledge to choose your own.
